Next up in my "After Dark" series...The Bat. Bats are fascinating creatures and pretty dang cute. They are another perfect example of something that has an eerie connotation and sort of dark shadow around it; simply because it exists mostly in the dark. They come out when the Sun goes down, when it's dark outside and when we can't see clearly. So people duck, run from them, because of a fear of the unknown, that which they cannot see. When we allow fear of the unknown to influence, or even dictate, where we go; we limit our availability to growth. We become the ones inside a cave. I made this bat because he, yes he, reminds me to go into the night with as much hope as I go into the day.
